For parents
Your teen is using or has shown you Unmute, and you're wondering what it is. Here's the essentials, plainly.
What is Unmute?
Unmute is a speaking-confidence training app: a daily challenge, an AI-guided role-play to practice before a presentation, a phone call, or a conversation that feels stressful, and a coach that gives supportive feedback. It is not a medical device and it does not replace psychological care — it's a training tool, the way you'd train for a sport.
The app is built by two high-school students, Unmute's founders. You can read our Terms of Service for the full detail, including the medical disclaimer.
Free core, optional Plus subscription
The daily training challenge — the "Core Loop" — is free and unlimited: your teen never has to pay to use it. An optional subscription, Unmute Plus (€5.99/month or €33.99/year, 7-day free trial), unlocks unlimited AI coach conversations and role-play practice beyond a small free daily limit. All prices are shown clearly before any purchase, and every payment goes through Apple's App Store on your teen's own Apple ID — we never charge a card directly. If your teen has asked you to subscribe, that's exactly what this page is for: nothing is charged without your review.
What the app does with data
In short: we only collect what's needed to run the app (account, progress, journal, text exchanged with the AI coach), we never sell data, we show no ads, and primary storage is hosted in the EU. The full detail, including subprocessors and your GDPR rights, is in our Privacy Policy.
